Recommended use:
As a anticorrosive primer/finish for container repair and total refurbishing, steel constructions, trailers, technical and industrial installations etc. When anticorrosive properties and durability have to comply with the strictest requirements it is recommended to treat the substrate with KPC 2145 SD-FF Primer.

Main characteristics:
Applicable as a mono coat. Very good adhesion on grit blast steel surfaces and steel that has been thoroughly cleaned of rust. Easy to apply by spray, by which a smooth surface can be obtained. It is possible to process this product in temperatures as low as -15°C.

Surface preparation:
New steel: Blasting with a not too coarse, dry blasting material to Sa 2.5, with a surfaceroughness of approximately 50µm. The substrate should be completely dry and free from oil, grease or other contaminations.

In case of repair: all kinds of damages should be blasted with a fine and dry blastingmaterial with reduced pressure. When blasting is not possible, the substrate should be cleaned with a powertool.

In case of maintenance: the substrate should be made free of grease. This can be done by means of high-pressure spraying pistol and tapwater with optional cleansing agent. Also steamcleaning can be used. After cleaning rinse and dry the substrate properly. All damaged and loose paint should be removed by means of blasting. If it is not possible to blast, the substrate can be cleaned with a powertool.

Recoating:
The substrate should be clean and dry. In case of recoating a just applicated film of paint, it is sufficient to remove dust and sand before recoating. In case of recoating old or damaged layers of paint, treat the substrate as mentioned in the section surface preparation.
