Recommended use:
KPC 5001 EP Zinccompound is recommended to use as a single coat for protection of steel structures against rut and corrosion in many weathering exposures. KPC 5001 EP Zinccompound is also used as a base coat with appropriate topcoats in corrosive atmospheres and other severe services. Excellent for long-term protection of structural steel, equipment, containers, railings, cranes, steel decking, bridges, workboats and ships.


Main characteristics :
Excellent anticorrosive properties. The dry film contains minimal 90% by weight pure metallic zinc. Fast drying and recoatable whitin one working day; the paint used to be applied on top of this primer must be unsaponifyable. KPC 5001 EP Zinccompound must not be applied in coats exceeding a DFT of 70 micron.

Surface preparation:
The substrate should be blast cleaned steel to the Swedish Standard Sa 2½ and surface roughness of 50 micron gives the best result. The surface should be dry, clean and free of dust.
