A two-component, quick drying shopprimer for direct application to abrasive steel plate or containers. It is fairly durable on the stocks and can be overcoated with a variety of materials. It is designed to be overcoated and, although it contains anticorrosive pigments, should not be left uncoated longer than 3 months by 20 micron d.f.t.
Approved as a prefabrication Primer by Lloyd’s Register of Shipping (LR).
Recommended use:
As a quick drying pretreatment welding- or transport primer for the protection of structural steel during the storage and fabrication period.
Main characteristics :
Good adhesion on blast cleaned steel. Suitable for use as a prefabrication primer in both conventional and high-performance systems such as two pack epoxy or polyurethane systems. Can be easily applied by airless-spray and automatic spray plants.
Surface preparation:
Blast cleaned steel to Swedish Standard Sa 2½ and surface roughness of 50 micron gives the best result. As a miniumium requirement the surface should be dry, clean and free from dust.
